Leveraging Ideas

One of my favorite blogspots / idea factories is the On Startups site of Dharmesh Shah (www.onstartups.com).  If you know or have heard of Dharmesh, you know his ideas are deep, articulate and REALLY helpful. Dharmesh has recently published a newc book called “InBound Marketing” (www.inboundmarketing.com) which should be the new roadmap for how to market your company in today’s world. Why am I mentioning this?  Simple, We believe that getitng ideas from intelligent, experienced people who have been succesful in the past can never be a bad thing.

Obviously, personal input and context are a must, but a great commentator (like Dharmesh) can cause you to look at things from a perspective that brings you greater insight than you otherwise would achieve. Taking some of Dharmesh’s ideas (which are generally focused on startups…hence the name of his site!) and applying them to your business and situation can be very helpful.  We have applied some of those concepts discussed to clients who are raising capital, considering mergers and simply trying to grow their business.  We believe that input from folks like Dharmesh is invaluable…and there are many others.  Guy Kawasaki, Paul Graham, the list goes on.  Let us know if there are others that you rely on.
